What a week Riley has had! He feels great and has enjoyed some really good days. We are excited about adding a new treatment to Rileys road to recovery! Wednesday Riley had his first acupuncture treatment and will start going twice a week. We have seen positive results in others who have spinal cord injuries and hope the same for Riley. Hope! Hope that we hold on to! Friday, Jason and Riley spent all day at AT&T Stadium watching a few high school football state championship games. They had a great time and I was able to spend the day with my sister trying to do a little Christmas shopping. Saturday was another great day full of time time spent with friends. We had a great visit with Tavaris Pye, who was injured in 2006. He had first visited Riley when Riley was at Baylor and was able to spend some more time with him on Saturday. Great kid and we enjoyed his visit. Hope to see him often! A few of Rileys friends stopped by for a bit as well. We ended the day with some really special friends and a great meal that has been weeks in the making by Riley and Mrs. McGinnis. Riley loves her and of course anything she cooks! Although he helped David with the grilling! We are thankful for her and the bond she shares with Riley. We were all stuffed and I loved hearing Riley laugh with Coach Haynes and of course Chris Offill! Riley is still talking about how much fun he had! It was a great evening! Today Sydney and I spent time together while Jason and Riley rested at home. Tomorrow Riley has therapy and is already looking forward to it and sleeping late! Please continue to pray for Riley. Pray for strength and continued good health. Pray that his body below his injury starts to receive the signals above his injury. Just a small area they need to get through. Riley is determined to someday have use of his body again. Someday be able to brush his teeth, feed himself and jump in a car and drive himself to where he needs to go. #hewill.
