What a week were having. Weve spent the morning in hospital with Jamison, who vomited last night and then developed a blood red rash on his neck. Ive never forgotten being told that a rash you should worry about is one that stays red when you press it. A typical rash will go white then red again and a non blanching rash that stays red is one you need to address immediately. Which this was. So we rushed into hospital and after doing all the tests hes had a dose of antibiotics in case but they think hes ok (thank god.) But I wanted to remind you all that with meningococcal even half an hour can be the difference between life and death. So if you ever notice a rash like that dont worry about being over paranoid, get it checked immediately. As the doctors told us, in this case its better to over react and have it be nothing than the alternative. So I wanted to share that with you all so you remember it too, god forbid you ever need it. A HUGE thank you to the staff at Womens and Childrens, you are all amazing. Now lets hope we dont see again for a while!
