What a weekend! We got to go down and visit the bird in Kenosha and we had a wonderful time. On the way down we detoured off to Lacrosse where many of my childhood memories were made because Grams and Gramps lived there from the year I was born until I was 21. Eric and I went to see their old house and neighborhood, had lunch downtown Lacrosse and topped it off with a trip up Gran Dads Bluff! The history of the bluff itself is the best part. Three Puritan Pastors climbed it in 1850, and celebrated Eucharist there, giving thanks to God. I never knew that. Caught up with the bird and she showed me her 4 year portfolio plan for becoming a teacher/special needs teacher and her philosophy thesis on education. Then she took me to the studio to show me her lyrical that she has been cast in a prouction for. WOW. Her dance skills have improved 10 fold! She is a different dancer. Then the fun stuff.....Captain Mikes for lunch (BEST BURGERS EVER!), Captain Philipps (the movie), grocery shopping, (of course), Wells Bros Pizza (rated 6th in the nation for best pizza), and Franks Diner (in a railroad car since 1921), with garbage plate breakfasts! What a blast! LOVE IT DOWN THERE! LOTS OF HISTORY! We are so blessed!
