What a weird morning. Have you ever had something happen to you that you really cant explain? Ill try to keep this as short as possible but its going to be long. I always park at the far end parking lot at my office and I needed to leave to go to the bank. I walked from my office back to my FJ and turned on the remote start ahead of time so the vehicle was already running when I walked up to it. I walked to the passenger door because I had a few papers on my passenger seat that I wanted to organize before driving off. I was standing in the door jam, leaning over my seat going through papers while the radio was playing and the AC was on high. While standing there I INSTANTLY had a strange feeling consume my entire body, It was a feeling like something really bad is about to happen . I cant explain it other than that, it just felt like a evil presence was near and I had the chills go through my body. Honest as can be I didnt hear anything or see anyone because as I walked to the FJ 20 seconds earlier I didnt see anyone standing around the parking lot and I always pay attention to my surroundings. I cant explain the way I felt other than I felt instantly threatened for what seemed to be no reason. I quickly put my hand on my pistol and turned around just as some 30 something year old guy was 10 feet behind me and was walking straight towards me with a crazy, blank stare on his face. He actually startled me because I did not expect anyone to be there. I could tell this guy was clearly up to no good. The second I seen him I put my left hand out in front of me and yelled at him to stop and get the hell back and asked him what his intentions were. He then stopped dead in his tracks, 8 feet or so in front of me with his dead down and didnt move. He sat there for a few seconds and during this time I was stuck, I tried to back up to create spacing between us but I couldnt go anywhere because the door was at my back. I honestly thought he was going to charge me because of the way he was acting. I told him not to even think about it and he then turned around and took off running and jumped the big ass fence by the storage sheds at the end of the parking lot and was gone.. Freaking insane. He had to have come out from behind the dumpster or behind the office complex. He clearly tried sneaking up on me and I have no idea if he noticed my pistol or not because I didnt point it at him, but was seriously about too. I had it in my right hand to the side of my body pointing straight down. It really startled me and after he left I just sat on the passenger seat for a good 2-3 minutes taking deep breaths. Its crazy how fast something can go down. It all happened so fast and I realized regardless how you think you will act, natural instinct takes over in those situations because I never thought I would put my one hand in front of me and yell at him to stop and ask what his intentions were. I dont even know where that came from to be honest. This day started out as any other ordinary Monday and could have ended with one of us dead. You never know whats going to happen so make sure you have a clear heart and live each day to the fullest. Thats all I can say. I am going to be 1000x more careful now when walking to empty parking lots, thats for sure.
