What a wonderful Christmas Day and Night we had. Gordon, Mimi and I packed up the car and headed down the road for Micheles home mid-afternoon yesterday. We decided wed just spend the night because I dont like to drive much after dark. We had a fabulous time and because of my bum hip, I was pretty much chair bound with my camera in hand. I have never ever taken so many photos. Ill separate the photos by events of the day/evening - too many for one or two postings for Facebook. There was a lot of sitting around and visiting, especially at first. Mike was preparing everything from scratch to compliment the Honey Baked Ham - a family tradition for us. The mashed potatoes were to die for - Mike cooked bacon bits and added generous amounts. He also made, from scratch, macaroni and cheese - yummy. And... he also made, from scratch, pimento cheese to compliment the ham - especially was good for the ham sandwiches for later in the night. Those of you who know the Dizdar family know about Chris Core. Joseph has a group of friends that has grown from his high school days. To say that they practically live at the Dizdars is not an understatement. They are a fun loving good group of young men. They love and respect Michele and they felt the same about Chris. They were the pall bearers at Chriss funeral and participated with heartfelt honor when Michele gave a toast to Chris at the dinner table last night.
