What a wonderful lazy morning. Quiet and sunny, and baby is - TopicsExpress

What a wonderful lazy morning. Quiet and sunny, and baby is sleeping away with my kitty curled up next to her head. He loves to sleep next to the babies. I think my husband fixed the problem with my washing machine, it has been phantom washer, filling with water and flooding my pantry. If it isnt fixed, he can replace the part by himself, which is good news. Im slowed down on my canning, by physical limits. Which totally stinks. I keep plugging away, though. My crab apple butter is in the fridge, waiting for me, but the plums will wait no longer. Baby is big enough that she is enjoying the walker now, so she happily plays while I fill the electric roaster with washed plums and water. The smell of roasting plums, heavenly! Elk steak is on the menu today. Pounded thin, soaked in buttermilk, then floured with seasoned flour (salt, pepper and cayenne added) and layered in the slow cooker with thin sliced sweet onions, sliced crimini mushrooms, and a can of family sized cream of mushroom soup. Ill add steamed green beans, and mashed taters to round out the meal. Lunch is tuna salad, made with grated apple, grated onion, relish, mayonnaise and mustard. Ill add fresh lettuce, and sliced tomatoes to the wheat bread. My quickie basil soup. A quart of zucchini and tomatoes, a jug of v-8, three minced garlic cloves, a half cup of fresh basil cut in ribbons. I love a pinch of clove in my soup, and Mrs. Dash instead of salt and pepper.
