What a wonderful photo from the Tides Institute collection. We know that house well - have done restoration on it for a decade. It still has its original fireplace with crane in the early Cape that is built with accordion lath and has unique hand made mahogany thumb latches. The 1840s Federal addition is still intact with its large parlor windows and interior folding shutters. Known as the Theophilus W. Allan home (Abner Gardner house to the left).
