What a wonderful post from a relieved and thankful momma in Missouri whose son and his four friends were on their way home from spring break and took shelter at the Civic Center last night: There are no words to describe the initial feeling that hits you when you hear that your child, who is hundreds of miles away from you, is in a potentially devastating situation and there is nothing physically that you can do to protect them. Its times like these that you find out what is inside you, is it fear and destitute, or is it the word of God that you know to be true, to a level that can bring you peace and comfort even in the worst of situations. I realized at this point that there are NO emergencies in my life, that God is who He says HE is, and that he CAN and WILL do everything that He says He can do!! Its no coincidence that all the storms and tornados that were headed directly for them went to the north and south! When God is for you, who can be against you?? Always and forever standing on Psalms 91!!!! Thank you friends and family for being in agreement with me for protection and also to the Gardendale Civic Center who provided not only shelter and food for them but also helped to keep their spirits high. My thoughts and prayers go out to them today as they are faced with the possibility of more severe weather as well as to those who have lost everything in these storms including their lives! God bless you all!!!
