THE MIND THAT IS STAYED ON GOD Isaiah 26:3 (KJV) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Philippians 4:8 (KJV) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. THE SUBMISSIVE MIND * Philippians 2:5 (KJV) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: * Romans 12:3 (KJV) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. * Romans 12:16 (KJV) Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. * James 4:6-10 (KJV) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. *** You want to draw nearer to God? ***** 1. Humble Submission 2. Resistance 3. Repentance 4. Remorse THE WILLING MIND * 1 Chronicles 28:9 (KJV) And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind:for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts:if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. WILL= WAY (where theres a will, theres a way) * John 5:6 (KJV) When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? * John 10:17-18 (KJV) Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. * Luke 5:12-13 (KJV) And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy:who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will:be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. * 2 Corinthians 9:1-2 (KJV) 1 For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:2 For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many. * 2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity:for God loveth a cheerful giver. * 1 Peter 5:2 (KJV) Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; A MIND TO WORK * Nehemiah 4:6 (KJV) So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof:for the people had a mind to work. * Ephesians 2:10 (KJV) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. * Galatians 6:9-10 (KJV) And let us not be weary in well doing:for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. * 2 Thessalonians 3:11-13 (KJV) For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. 13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. * 1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. We need to ask ourselves, What kind of mind do we have? Is it stayed on God? Is it on my selfish needs or wants, on something immoral, material things, what is it stayed on?
