What a wonderful world... wishing emotional strength to every person as we walk this lifetime and gather our lessons! Gratitude. There is such sweet love in the world, and I am so blessed to have it present in my life. Thank you Ayah Buonaugurio and E-Nectar Bast as well as Marilu Chan, Juliana Hebenstreit, Nick Brentley, Evan Small, Robert Elvin Domondon, my daughter Rhianna Moon Ray who walked with me in spirit, my son Gabriel who accompanied me, protecting me from the dangers lurking in the late-night wilderness, and to my husband who has always -28 years- held space for me to be and grow... as I followed spirit and moon to a funeral ritual -and have found closure on a painful walk I have concluded. Thank you spirit for guiding me to a place where my life of dance (30 years developing Dance Noir) can now completely transform into the brand new healing form of dance that is so unlike anything I have ever known. Following the path I have been on even without conscious intention... from the first mention, in a Dance Magazine review (SummerFest 1985) where it said my work fell more to the healing side on the continuum of dance. And a BIG thank you to Bast who called this morning inspired with her reading of the day that spoke to her of my work. She is right, it is my calling to face fear, and to unlock the doors of healing that fear tries to nail closed! I am here to help others walk this path, and having experienced it deeply imperative! And thus, post last weekends ritual/rehearsal retreat, Shamanic Fusion Dance is being born. PUSHfest Sept 19, 21, at ODC we will publicly unveil the full intention of this form of dance. Although my work has been going this direction for years, this is the first risk of stepping into involving the audience in the nudges of spirit! And this particular dance Thinking Inside the Box invites the audience to witness from a place of setting their own intentions toward closure. This dance evokes closure from endings that have been lingering. By setting an intention and witnessing the dance from that place, the mind will understand through symbolic language, the movement and music symbols of closure -and begin the cycle of making the intended ending final.
