What a world... stepped out of my apartment a few minutes ago to take in a little piece of this beautiful Austin day and was greeted by so much ugly that I am still trying to comprehend it. My door faces a heavily populated UT bus stop. Once my eyes focused on the stop, I saw a disgusting scene unfold. Amidst the 10-15 students waiting at the stop, I could see one guy below them literally dragging himself and his book bag from the bus stop through my parking lot. Thats weird. That guy looks hurt... Or something... and there is a whole group of people just watching him, like some weird YouTube video. Did I just see one of my neighbors literally walk over the guy to get to his car. Really?!? It didnt take long for me to realize that I was the only human being present. I came down the stairs and approached him, Looks like you are having a rough day, let me help you. I think it surprised him. He was exasperated and on the verge of tears. I got hit by a car an hour and a half ago. Im hurt and just trying to get home. For an hour and a half, this guy had been struggling and dragging himself around and I had been the first person to approach him and offer help. Sad, sad, sad. He lives right down my street. I loaded him and his (heavy) bag into my car and took him home. This took five minutes out of my day. It was literally the least I could do.
