What advice would you give to an inspiring author? Mr. David - TopicsExpress

What advice would you give to an inspiring author? Mr. David Baldacci, one of my favorite legal-thriller novelists of our time, answered: Dont write what you know about. Write what youd like to know about. And never chase trends. Dont write about dinosaurs because Crichton did or Da Vinci Code because Brown did. Write something youre passionate about and want to learn more about. Have fun with it. Dont treat it as a job. Exercise your imagination, treat it like a game. Right on the dot. Like Mr. John Grisham, Baldacci has sold millions of copies of books in various languages around the world. I had an opportunity to see Baldacci at the UCLA book fair a few years back, a great public speaker and a very funny witty man, who was a short-story writer at one time of his life. He wrote a letter, encouraging me not to give up my writing after reading his remarkable novel called The Winnner. I couldnt be more impressed with Baldacci and Grishams books. If you like political/legal thrillers, these two writers are at the best of their game. Much admired and appreciated.
