What always bedevils my understanding is the lack of answer to the big question why the IC is reluctant to recognize Somaliland? I mean why? in the objective sense of the question? It was that question and that question only which created my obsession in international relation field . The BIG question: What went wrong? 1.We succeeded to bring peace and tranquility in Somaliland. (Which is good for the IC especially neighboring countries like Ethiopia and Djibouti by which USA, FRANCE and other IC members uses it as military base) 2.We succeeded to build a working administration from scratch without a shred of help from the IC. 3.We succeeded to build a nation with full qualifications of statehood as per the Montevideo Convention statehood criteria: (a) a permanent population (b) a defined territory (c) government; (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states. 4.We succeeded to build an imported democratic system as per the US and European criteria (political plurality, election, transparency) and we took 23 years practicing all the shit that the IC told us to do yet nothing is changing. So what the hell is going on? what exactly went wrong with us? why we lack recognition in 23 years? In an International Relations point of view things seem quite complicated than they seem, and the problem is deeper than we have ever imagined. For me, being a Neo-realist international relations researcher shed some light on my way of pursuing truth the objective truth. In neo-realist international relations theory, sovereign states in the international theater interact in a world of structural anarchy.(1) The argument is like this: The premises: 1.Individual states are actors of the international theater. 2.There is NO hierarchy and there is NO world government. (and its even impossible for world government to exist and perpetuate justice). 3.The human being is naturally competitive. 4.There is tendency for humans to be evil though no an original error but social environment may cause it. The conclusion: >For that reason (above mentioned) there is an international anarchy and the international anarchy is the permissive cause of war. Goals of every state is: 1.Survival in the midst of the anarchy.(the primary goal) 2.Development. 3.Economic growth (&development) Motives of states: 1.Self interest (the primary motive) 2.Greed. 3petitiveness. 4.Ideology. Every state will pursue its goals as much as it could and because there is NO world government power is the rule of law, the more power you have the more you guarantee survival and reach your goals. *** **** ***** That being said, somaliland is under the mercy of others unless it understands its reality and begins to pursue survival taking account on the reality of our world and strategizing to be self reliant cuz no one is looking after you except yourself. Using a game theoretic method of political analysis we can calculate the motives, options, worldviews, strategies and interests or even possible conspiracies of the IC (International community) against Somaliland. We can also plan for our future in the light of knowledge and reality. By:Khaled Mohamoud Abdilahi (2) T H A N K S.
