What an absolute Treasuretrove of classics! I truly hit a Home Run with this purchase! I recently purchased, and just received five DVDs of original 1970s-era Rock n Roll concert footage. As there was no song track listing with the DVDs, I popped them into the Blu-Ray player this evening just to see what was on them. The Bachman Turner Overdrive DVD contains a documentary, which was obviously filmed at the height of their popularity, as well as portions of a 1988 VH1 Reunion Special. It all appears to be pretty neat stuff! The REO Speedwagon DVD is a Video Anthology of their hits from 1978 through 1990. Some of the tracks (19 of them in all) are music videos, some are live on-stage performances. A lot of GREAT stuff in this one! The Grand Funk Railroad DVD contains portions of two concerts, one in Cincinnati in 1974 and one in Los Angeles in 1970. What a kick to see Mark Farner on stage! And was there ever a harder worker in drums than Don Brewer. The Cincinnati concert contains some other bands I wasnt all that interested in, but all in all, it looks pretty good. The Three Dog Night DVD was a PBS Soundstsge concert recorded in 1975, so it pretty much spans their entire career. Chuck Negron, Cory Wells and Danny Hutton at their best! And the Chicago DVD. Awesome! VH1 recordings filmed in the mountains of Colorado in 1973 and 1974, and a New Years Rockin Eve concert from 1975. Good Chicago footage that includes Terry Kath are hard to come by! 26 fabulous tracks from early in their career. Now that Ive previewed them, over the next few weeks, Ill watch them from front to back. What a catch!
