What an amazing day in Africa! Pics to come later, but tonight I was out on a safari and stepped about 30 feet away from the vehicle to get some photos of the Southern Cross constellation. It is pitch black dark with gorgeous stars. I am bracing my camera on a post, and as I am adjusting for the light I hear a crunching sound and spy a the face of a giant elephant 10 feet away staring me down! Talk about a shocking moment! Guess I need to pay more attention if an elephant can sneak up on me!
