What an emotional and extremely tormenting day just standing there - TopicsExpress

What an emotional and extremely tormenting day just standing there and watching them drill for a core sample; in desperate attempts to see what the mountain is made of. She is made of power and sacredness, and also people power. Im really glad to be a witness to what is taking place up there and hope for more people power to march back up on that mountain. I felt short handed only going for the day but realize, for me, that took much strength to be in the presence of corruption. RCMP is protecting what and who becomes rather difficult, for me personally, to understand and wrap my head around imperialism and watching a country seemingly move into fascism. This is legal to them and to the colonial courts and the colonial white government and the ancestors and Indigenous peoples remain the problem. Traumatizing, always in all ways, to feel this much loss, to hear the drill boring a hole into the earth, to hear the RCMP march about. Powerful to hear the chants, the music, the drums, the women drumming and singing and being strong. I broke down watching some women being arrested knowing all I could do was stand there and keep the camera rolling. In seeing a good friend, smiles and hugs shared, I felt inside me to be broken, breaking down again, looking back in I found myself crying even more, reaching in for a second hug, we just held each other, crying, explaining how emotional this really is, to me, to watch, to think why. People were mentioning to me that this action of crying is humanistic to be this emotional, to be this upset, to just cry, so I did. For now, Im back in a safe place, safe space; full of emotions and rather upset, confused, distraught. Thinking forward to what else can be done, what else can everyone else do to be up there. Im praying to be back on Salt Spring Island tomorrow and work late into the night on a new film project from all of this. And watch on to see what unfolds up on that mountain. Deep respect for the first peoples showing up to defend two or three months ago. I can now see and say having taken witness to what kKkinder morgan is doing by silently moving in like the snake that they truly are, oil is to them a new Lord and we are meant to bow down and pay respect to that. Remember to stay tuned for a video link from the trip on the Action Bus marching over to uplift, and honour; we all worked hard, everyone that donated, everyone that went, everyone that is staying. We brought in much needed support and supplies. Showing a slime ball oil company we mean serious business on our stance against pipelines, tar sands, court run “Royal Corporate Mounted/Militarized Police”. -AHO
