What an emotional hour spent retracing my steps in the Channel 4 - TopicsExpress

What an emotional hour spent retracing my steps in the Channel 4 Documentary #AEWarZone! It was little over a year ago that I spent time in those very hospitals when we delivered ambulances and medical supplies in conjunction with Al Fatiha Global charity and spent time with the very same hero medics and health staff that are barely keeping the field hospitals afloat in Aleppo and other cities outside of Syrian government control. Some of the doctors and health who were there at the same time have been killed. The rest, remain behind- defiant and brave in the face of almost certain death at some point with the daily bombing campaigns, barrel/ cluster bombs and shells that the regime pound heavily populated areas with. May God protect all those left behind and bring peace to the region soon...Ameen. I know that feeling of leaving the Syrian people behind. The heart aches every time you leave because you just never know if you will see them alive again in the future. Its great that #Channel4 decided to air the footage of the reality on the ground and highlight the plight of Syrians so explicitly. May be now that the rest of the world that saw footage being taken with a western doctor in the midst of the conflict, more attention will be paid to the humanitarian plight. Us humanitarians have seen the destruction and carnage both first hand and through amateur footage that is sent from the region daily (often dispelled as unverified). Hopefully the footage aired about David Notts experiences will give the humanitarian efforts, that hundreds of volunteers give out there some recognition and credibility. THIS is what drives us. Its what drives ME! I hope the documentary will broaden everyones view about Syria and allow them to think beyond the radicals and politics.....to think about the human suffering and what we can all do to help.
