What an eventful day we had. Mawmaw and I have been busy most of the day taking care of these babies. Thanks for all Tammies hard work and arranging the meetings for us, we were able to deliver 5 babies to Rescues today. This little girl is the mama that was at the pound ready to deliver babies any time. She was so frightened, and everyone thought she was feral. Once I got in the dog house with her, we realized we liked each other just fine. She is a sweetheart and was very appreciative of the help. She was so willing to go along with us and gave no troubles at all. It looks like everything is getting into place, and those babies will be here real soon. She looks to be very young, and this is likely her first litter, and will also be her last. The last picture is of Ren with the rescue, who met us to take this mama home for a good bath and a nice resting place for the evening. She will go to her new foster home tomorrow and will remain there with her babies until everyone is ready for their forever homes. I was preparing to bring her home with me, and last night received word that she was going to the rescue that took our sweet girl with the swollen face. Elsa and Brent were picked up by rescue today, as was our two border collie puppies. Brent is still pretty scared, but has bonded to Elsa, so we felt it was a good move to let him go along with her and prepare for adoption. It was a great day for five beautiful babies from Bibb County today, and we are thankful that God chose us to be a part of that. We still have our 5 foster puppies (the ones with mange), and they are healing nicely. Hopefully we will get them into rescue soon. They will be going back to the vet next week for their next shot to help with the mange, and are already beginning to grow some hair back. They are so happy and active now, that I cant believe it is the same babies. I was afraid Sarah would be looking for Elsa and Brent as she has fallen in love with them and has been playing from the time they wake in the mornings until time to go to bed. But, as I watch our Sarah, I think she has already forgotten there were other dogs here. Sarahs ability to remember small things is no good at all, and most mornings she has to re-learn some events from the previous day, but I really thought the impact made from these two pups would stick with her. I suppose it is better this way, as she doesnt know that she misses them. But, soon enough more little feet will fall on our floors and Sarah will have new playmates again, and Sam will have more kids to keep watch over. We are having to keep the little puppies away from everyone as they are contagious and I sure dont want anyone else getting this nasty mange. Time to kick my feet up and call it a day, well, after I feed the puppies; clean their cage; give Sarah and Hope their medication; feed Sarah, Sam and Hope; Do a load of animal laundry; and call to wish my baby girl, Billie Jo a happy birthday. Oh, I need to feed Faith; empty the litter box; and feed the Bikini Bottom Gang; then I will kick back. Hope I didnt forget anyone! Enjoy your evening and remember to Pay it Forward
