What an exciting day for our newest therapist!! Today was a big day for Brego our newest member of the team. He got to move next door (to the Horsethinking centre) along with his mother, auntie and best foal friend to meet the vet and have his micro chip and passport sorted. All went fine, Mum walked over followed by Brego. Auntie and best friend did the same and waited for the vet in our little barn along with a pile of tasty home grown hay. Halters went on and everyone enjoyed hanging out together. Two and a half hours later vets finally arrived, microchips were inserted and passports were filled in. Brego has some amazing whorls. One centre forehead and two matching ones under his curly fringe, as well as another matching pair either side of his neck! A sign of good luck we were told!! Then goodbyes were said and little friend went off to his new life, mum and auntie went back next door and Brego started his new life with his next door neighbour friends from Horsethinking. He met the electric fencing, said hi to his new friends, shared some hay with big boy Libre, wandered around the yard in a casual way, and then popped back over the fence, back to mum and some lovely warm milk! In the days to come he will visit with the folks next door, gradually increasing the time and enjoying being with his new friends. One day soon he will decide to stay, the important thing is that it will be his decision and will be accomplished in his own time and in his comfort zone. Horsethinking exists to help people cope with changes in their lives. To recognise behaviour patterns which result in communication problems and relationship issues. Brego too is experiencing changes as he grows and learns how to become a member of a family and survival mechanism - the herd. This cognitive learning is what will allow him to achieve his own potential as a valued member of the herd and to be able to help people in their own journey of growth and fulfilment.
