What an honor to be a Mom! To know that God picked, ordained, and equipped women to conceive, carry for nine LOOOONG months, give birth, care for and nurture another human being for all of their life!! (Although some of us have come to better understand why some animals eat their young;) Seriously, its not an easy task by any means and carries great responsibility. While it does require much investment, motherhood also brings the greatest rewards. There is nothing that brings a smile to my face or tears to my eyes more quickly than thoughts and memories of my children and GRANDchildren! I love being a mom, I believe it is the highest call on my life. It IS the one thing that I always knew I wanted to be. God has taught me many things about His love, forgiveness, and long-suffering during my roll as a mom. My love for my children is not based on how much they give me, how much they do for me, or even how often they visit or call. My love for them is based on the TRUTH that they are MY children. There is nothing they could give me, there is nothing they could do for me to make me love them any more. When they hurt, I hurt, when they make poor choices, I am disappointed, when they achieve success I am elated. Still, neither highs nor lows determine the love I have for my children. I have great relationships with all of my children, and I have no doubts about their love for me. They tell me in so many ways; words, looks, actions, and deeds. Usually, when we are in public together, they dont try to hide or deny that they are my children;) sometimes, they even introduce me as their MOM!
