What an incredible day. Got to the office at 7:00 an put in a full work day until 3:00. Then off to Oaklands Paramount theater to watch inauguration of 3 city council members, 3 school board members and the absolutely awesome Mayor Libby Schaaf, giving the best version yet of her Its Hella Time for Oakland speech. Much cause for optimism. Then, tonight to the California Jazz Conservatory (aka the Jazz School) to see the incredible jazz sax player Steve Heckman with Howard Alden, Marcus Shelby, Akira Tana and Matt Clark. Steve just gets better and better. They played this tonight. More and bigger adventures start tomorrow.
