What an undescribable feeling we get at Almost Home when one of our special needs kitties find their forever home. Our sweet Harvey had been with us for over a year. When he first came to Almost Home he was malnourished, filthy, and had an injury just above his eye. The lady that had found Harvey, said she saw some kids shooting him with a BB gun. Harvey had been shot and it barley missed his eye. He was a sweet, tender loving boy from the moment he arrived. During his intake exam we discovered he was FIV positive, an autoimmune disease. Even though cats with FIV can live long and normal lives, we knew it would take a very special family to want to adopt him. About a month ago, a really nice couple came in to Almost Home and they were introduced to Harvey. They fell in love with him instantly. I told them about him being FIV positive. They decided they needed time to think about adopting Harvey, but they were very interested. Over the next few weeks the couple came in several times to visit with Harvey. Each time it was getting harder and harder for them to leave without him. Finally Harvey heard the words he had been waiting for. The couple that had fallen in love with him, were ready to make Harvey apart of their family. They filled out the application to adopt him, and Harvey officially went home! Harvey touched so many hearts while living at Almost Home. We are beyond happy for Harvey. Thank you to the wonderful couple that gave Harvey his forever home! Below are some pictures of Harvey. The first two pictures are of Harvey when he first arrived. The third picture is of Harvey after tender love and care from Almost Home!
