What are possibly the two most disturbing words ever? ANIMAL RIGHTS. Not the idea of logically humane treatment for animals, but the insanely radical idea that animals are naturally entitled to the same exact full set of rights we humans have. When people who think to this particular degree incline toward forcing on any way the living by this code, the ultimate outcome should they succeed to the final absolute of their ideal would be the eventual demise of the entire global ecosystem many of thrm CLAIM to represent and protect. Everything on a planet such as ours is in delicate balance, and all it would take to swiftly destroy that subtle balance and ultimately the whole world as originally shaped from the beginning would be for a very few select species other than humans to start grossly over-stepping their place in this delicate ecology. Ours is the only species with the ability to actually manage the fine juggling act of environmental managament ( when we are not ignorantly neglecting our place as stewards of the earth ). We have seen in recent decades the result of giving in to childishly oversentimental notions of the animal environment. Animals lack one all-important aspect humans are genetically imbued with that technically makes us superior in the sense of how we can interact with the environment : managerial logic. Ours is the ONLY species wherein EVERY single one of the kind has some level of skill toward the larger balance of resources.
