What are the 10 books youve read that affected and/or stuck with - TopicsExpress

What are the 10 books youve read that affected and/or stuck with you most? Im almost compelled to say that most books have stayed or affected me in parts, but perhaps thats a lazy response so Ill reflect upon this. Thanks, Jon Hodgson. I do read a lot more fiction than I do non-fiction so here goes (in no particular order): 1. Paulo Coelho - The Alchemist 2. Toni Morrison - The Bluest Eye (The last two pages alone of this book might have taught me everything Ive ever needed to know about self-love and beauty - but the whole book is lyrical magic) 3. Charles Dickens - Oliver Twist 4. Chimamanda Adichie - Half of a Yellow Sun 5. Arundhati Roy - The God of Small Things 6. Tsitsi Dangarembga - Nervous Conditions 7. Sylvia Plath - The Bell Jar (This book came to me at one of the most confusing moments of my life. I treasure both the book and Plaths life story) 8. Frantz Fanon - Black Skin, White Masks 9. Chinua Achebe - Things Fall Part (This book was my introduction to the richness of African lit) 10. Khaled Hosseini - The Kite Runner 11. Kopano Matlwa - Coconut I know thats eleven, but whats one more :p (Also, Frosts The Road Not Taken, Ginsbergs Howl and Lordes A Litany for Survival are poems that have had a great effect on me. A couple of essays too.) So, Katlego Katt Lekone Jordyn Gracey Mary Khambule Tiyang Thisisntmymiddlename Mabalane Belinda Kholeka Shange Ntombenhle Shezi Kabelo Matlala Kelebogile Motswatswa Richard Sibeko Nosizwe Nos-c Ndlovu, and pretty much anyone who wants to share theirs, would love to see your additions.
