What are you looking at here you might ask? This would be my infamous pink box. My Build a Bear team knows it well. Like the painted aprons, this box has been around for 10 years. Each year I travel to the Build a Bear store with hundreds of colorful tags (shown here). The tags will be tied around the wrists of lucky stuffed animals, sent off to cheer up kids that arent feeling so well at the Johns Hopkins Childrens Center. Students from various schools in my county come out with their families, as well as members of the community at large, in order to build and sometimes even dress bears that will be delivered to Hopkins at various points throughout the coming year. Something we are very proud of is that each year due to this giving project, each child that attends the Hopkins Winter holiday party gets a stuffed friend to go home with. This is year 11 and we have expanded to a full weekend event. If you are local, please plan to come out on either Saturday or Sunday to support this project. We will be there both days accepting donations from 11am-4pm. Weve made over 1500 bears over the last 10 years.
