What better way to recover from a long week at work than to spend an afternoon on a trout stream looking for grasshopper feeders..... I decided to drive to a small stream that i hadnt visited for a while due to a definite lack of trout numbers evident on the previous excursion there. Today I was pleasantly surprised by almost immediate action, think it was actually about 3rd cast... Ended up landing a heap of magnificently conditioned brown trout on bruisers bugs in both orange and purple colours. Surprisingly the purple was the go to colour today. Had one large fish refuse the normally reliable orange bug only to grab the purple like it had been waiting all season for it to float past.... :) Nice to see the small streams starting to fire up after the cormorant invasion of a couple of years ago..
