What can I do to be saved and to see Jesus and be rich? This question came from one of our numerous listeners, and raises a similar issue as the one posed to The Lord Christ, by Nicodemus, as reported in the Scriptures. Spiritual salvation is a derivative of a conscious absorption of the Word of Truth, and the expression of the spiritual volition of man in deeds. Salvation lies in the Word of Truth and what each individual does with theWord of Truth. There are no short cuts! About 2000 years ago, this Word of Truth was clothed in human form, although with Divine Essence, and was born on earth as Jesus Christ. Before Him, splittings of the same Word of Truth had reached mankind from prophets and fore-runners that were scattered, as it were, to various corners of the earth to minister the Word to peoples with varying cultural and developmental milestones. Prophet Mohammed, for instance, went to the Arabians. Like seeds scattered by the hand of the sower, some of them fell on fertile soil in the thirsting souls of men; while others, indeed the majority, fell on hard soil of the souls of obdurate, materialistic and selfish men and women, and yielded no goodresult. To make matters worse, the supposed custodians of the Word of Truth, eventually turned it into an object for organising religious doctrines and dogmas. Of course with religions multiplying by the day and each one trying to outdo the other in influence, membership growth and spread, it inevitably happens that the true essence of the Word of Truth is diluted, and in some cases, altogether polluted. To put the spiritual sign post back to its original right point therefore, a serious seeker for salvation must acquaint him or herself with the Will of God, expressed in the Laws of Creation. Then there should follow a deep resolve to live fully and consciously in accordance with this Will of God. To do this means to be born anew, which Christ meant when He responded to Nicodemus in that scriptural account. You do not need to see Jesus; indeed no human being can behold the presence of Jesus, because we are not of same species. Christ is Divine, while man is spiritual. It is because of the recognition of this sole path to spiritual salvation that Christ admonished: ‘Don’t call me Lord, Lord….Do the Will of My Father! It is this doing of the Will of His Father that can give any man salvation. Perhaps, to further help you here, let me say that the starting point could be to ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’. Yet again you must rise to the level of appreciating what love truly is! As per how to be rich, simply live in accordance with the spiritual or natural laws of Creation, and you will never lack what you need. Then every experience would become a spiritual gain, including the painful or sorrowful ones.
