What can one person do? Take an injured Golden Eagle from the mountains half way across the state to get help. Gives me goose bumps. Some people are so amazing. We just had a man bring us a Golden Eagle. He was hiking in the Steens Mts earlier today, where he came upon the bird. It didnt try to fly away, and appeared to be in some trouble. He literally hiked down the mountain for an hour, carrying this eagle!! As if that wasnt enough, he then drove it for hours to us, here in Bend. What a nice guy. We let him stay and observe our initial examination and ER treatment, and then he headed out - back down to the Steens! from a post by Jeannette from High Desert Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation
