What can the people do when their elected representatives succumb - TopicsExpress

What can the people do when their elected representatives succumb to the corruption of money and power, and refuse to legislate the peoples will? What can the people do when the justice system, intended to serve as a corrective body when the legislative body fails in its duty to the people, abdicates its responsibility to protect the peoples interests when the legislative body fails to do so? What can the people do when the chief executive, elected to execute the laws of the land, cannot serve the will of the people adequately because no legislative or judicial support exists to enable him to do so? As living human beings, we hold the power to surrender all expectation that power-based systems can tell us how to behave, what to think, how to feel, or who we are as individuals, and as a people. We can reclaim our power to act in ways we know to be beneficial and life-affirming. We can feel into the aliveness of our shared existence, and honor the diverse community of all life on Earth. We can think outside the box of power/dominator politics and economics to creatively propose and execute new relationships and ways of doing things that support our highest vision of our own capacities. If these activities mean we disobey the current civil order, so be it. When the peoples values, morals, realizations and awareness rises to a level collectively much greater than that of the systems under which it operates, to submit to those systems becomes the most immoral choice that we can make.
