What can we say about Robin Williams that hasnt been said? Maybe though, people will start understanding the hell some of us are in when dealing with depression and anxiety and not just wait for the next person to decide they have gone far enough in their fight. There isnt a cure for this and many times the things we think of as treatment only make things harder. I can tell you that the best thing you can possibly do for someone you care about that is fighting against depression, anxiety, PTSD, or anything else, is to be there for them and be understanding. Depression will always be around. Always. But it doesnt always have to be a constant hell. With the right people in your life, things do get better. Nothing is forever. Not depression, anxiety, happiness, or a feeling of calm. Support can be though. More than 22 veterans in the U.S. commit suicide everyday. According to suicide.org about 30,000 people die from suicide each year. The number one cause being untreated depression. Lets not just talk about this anymore. If you know someone who is dealing with depression or anything else, give them a call. Sometimes a phone call reminds them that someone gives a shit and took a second to understand. That being said. Id like to say thank you to everyone that supports and understands the things that I go through most days. Without you the fight would have ended some time ago. Im lucky in that even people Ive only met for a few minutes will tell me at shows that Im not alone and they are going through the same things. Not everyone is so lucky though. Just remember that. Depression, anxiety, and PTSD are hell and often times take away your voice and replace it with the fear that no one will understand you. So take a minute and remind someone that you do understand and youre there for them. Suicide will always be a real thing but it doesnt have to be as often. xxxx
