What can we say about our Mom! Margaret Mary Brake was born in Marystown to John and Agatha Brake on April 20th 1929. Mom lost her mother shortly after she was born so her lifelong wish was to meet her mother In August 1947, she married daddy Rich Hennebury and together they raised 14 children who went on to provide them with 36 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Raising 14 children through hard times was no easy task but Mom was a very strong and determined woman. As a testament to her strength she had to deal with burying 4 of her own children over the years: Baby Bobby, Lester, Johanna and Florence. Daddy died in 1983 and mom still had several of us at home to raise on her own. Mom was a kind loving mother and grandmother. She loved to have her kids and grandkids visit. Her door was always open to anyone. You always HAD to have a cup of tea and a lunch before you left. It was pointless to refuse. There was always a bowl of candy on the table as a treat. Now don’t get us wrong mom was no saint. Mom had her own very creative colorful language. Her rhymes cannot be found in any dictionary and definitely cannot be repeated here in church. She always spoke her mind and was jack blunt about whatever she wanted to say. No holds barred Mom is best known though for her wonderful sense of humor. She was always carrying on and loved to have a laugh. It was nothing to see Mom dressed up in a wig, a hat or even a mask. There is more than one story out there about something funny Mom said or did. We are truly grateful to have had her here for all these years and truly blessed to have been given an extra 11 and a half years with us after we were told her time was up way back then. Yesterday your lifelong wish was answered when you got to meet your mom. Mom will be sadly missed by all of us but we will always love you and you will be forever in our hearts and we will cherish our memories.
