What can when two pitbull Nutters cross paths ----------------------------------------------------- A WOMAN who stood by while a dog she was walking savagely attacked another dog before biting off part of the owner’s finger has been warned she could face jail. Appearing for sentence at Bolton Magistrates Court, Ann Marie Lee, aged 45, of Cartmell Crescent, Harwood, had been earlier convicted of the attack, which happened in April at playing fields next to her home. The court heard that at the time of the attack, a man, who was out walking his Staffordshire bull terrier on a lead, was confronted by another Staffordshire bull terrier, which Lee claimed she had been walking for a friend. The dog had no lead and no collar. Barrister for the prosecution, Alex Orndal, said: “Lee’s dog took hold of his dog and wouldn’t let go. “While the attack was going on Lee did nothing to get the dog off. In fact she told the aggrieved party to get his dog away. “After a short time, the man attempted to pull his dog away but as he reached down the other dog released his grip on his pet and bit him on the hand.” The court heard that the man, a roofer, had subsequently had part of his little finger amputated at hospital and had been off work as a result. His dog also suffered injuries. Refusing to sentence at the magistrates court, District Judge Jonathan Feinstein, said: “This man has suffered permanent disability because she has just stood by and watched and did nothing. “The result of this injury was very serious to the man involved and her failure to pull her dog away.” He added: “The victim suffered enormously and an immediate prison sentence cannot be ruled out.” The case was adjourned for sentence at Bolton Crown Court on November 29, when the extent of the victim’s injuries and that of his dog, will be updated. theboltonnews.co.uk/news/10760527.Owner_stood_by_and_did_nothing_as_dog_bit_off_part_of_man_s_finger/
