What changed? If Ian Lipkin thought he could solve Chronic Fatigue Syndrome if he got a million dollars (2011), what changed so that now he wants patients to donate $1.27 million for a descriptive study of the microbiome? And why is he going to the UK to speak at the same meeting as Esther Crawley? Quote from Ian Lipkin at WPI on 6/24/2011: Anybody who wants to write a check, Im not being cavalier about this at all, Im really serious because if somebody can pay for it... but you know, we have to pay for the sequencing, we have to pay the salaries, we have to pay the bio___ for the work to do it. So if anybody wants to take this in any disease and not just me. I mean, there are several people who would undertake this for you. But there are no resources to do it. Thats the challenge. So, again, Im not being tongue in cheek, Im not being flippant. I mean it sincerely. If we have the resources to do it, we can certainly do it. mecfsforums/index.php/topic,20316.msg163780.html#new
