What do you do when a stranger walks up to you at the grocery store and says I dont want money, but can you buy me dinner? Can I get a package of chicken to feed my family? Is it too much? he asked. It was an uncomfortable feeling, but honest in its own way. My first thought was, Im really struggling right now myself. But then I realized how much my heart felt for him. Maybe Im a pushover!? But how many times have I been so broke that I had nothing to eat, struggling to make ends meet or how many wonderful family and friends have bought me lunch or dinner to feed me in a rough time in my life! Just today at Starbucks... A customer said, Please let me but you lunch. He continued, Its time for you to accept letting others do nice things for you. So, I bought that stranger ( whom threw off my strict plan of only spending a certain amount) a family size of chicken to feed his kids. I knew he did not want to stand around as I was ringing other items for the sheer fact of something we call dignity, so he took the chicken and left. The cashier said, Better you than me. Pay it forward... Thats what I keep telling myself anyway. Or maybe I am just one big pushover!
