Rake your elderly neighbours enormous quantity of oak leaves and heap them up with the manure and let it all rot down together (soil futures). Next, hunt around the property to see what you can find to cobble together a serviceable heavy duty garden bed. Thank goodness that you have 1 thing to be thankful for about your steep block (gravity is officially my garden bed friend). Then after a lot of sawing and hauling you have a new garden bed or two...
