What do you do when you see images such as these on the road? Do Filipino drivers know what these are? Do they stop to allow pedestrians to cross? Does the Filipino public make use of these or just risk their asses and cross the street anywhere? Roads are not only for vehicles and pedestrian MUST use their rightful spaces on these roads in as much as drivers MUST yield to pedestrians on these spaces. Legazpi City and UAP Legazpi just recently worked on the Livable Cities Project and the theme for the World Day of Architecture 2014 is Happy Cities, Healthy Cities. Livable cities is not only about Architecture and architectural interventions, it is about PEOPLE and their positive experiences. Taking off from this great effort of my chapter, let me start this personal advocacy to GIVE A SPACE TO PEDESTRIANS IN OUR ROADS AND FOR HEAVENS SAKE RESPECT THEM. For a better built environment they rightfully deserve these.
