What do you miss most from your two years of travelling? As I - TopicsExpress

What do you miss most from your two years of travelling? As I pondered about this for one good year, it was between: (almost total) freedom, anonymity, the pursuit of adventure, etc... But I concluded, it was the essence of time. The Economist article came timely, and explained the perception of time well as human progressed to become more productive. The two years, I had the pleasure of time... Time to wake up as I wished, without alarms or schedule. Time to take that first conscious deep breath, and begin the day. Time to appreciate that energy, recovered from a good night rest. Without worries, or bothered with the notion of Monday, or a Friday. Time to go about ones business, take bath, Time to appreciate how the body adapts, grows through the climate, Time to reflect the last hair cut as water flows onto the hair, Without a time to clock in, to work or to play. Time to eat, only because of hunger instead of fixed hours, Time to smell, taste, chew, and savour almost every meal, Time to digest, and to appreciate the energy and nutrients blessed from mother earth, Without rush, judging, or greed. Time to pause, observe all the wonders in the journey, Time to think, for the mind is clear without haste, Time to reflect, for there is all the time in the world to do so, Without being occupied by clutter and daily obligations. Time to be present, in meeting a stranger, Time to listen, where the other party is all thats of focus, Time to express, and seek understanding, Without a pressure to conclude nor fear of being misunderstood. Time to stay one more night, Time to sleep early, after a weary day, Time to sleep later, as one engage into an interesting conversation, Without patterns, because the only deadline for both is 3 months away. Time to wait, as buses and trains do come late, Time to read, write, and reflect, as there is no need to wait anyways, Time to live by the moment regardless, Because Iiving on the road, was best without expectation. ... That state of having time, was one that I truly missed. Yet, that state is achieved now, sometimes, by observing only the absolute present.
