What do you say about a day like today? We like to think that were so much more civilized than our barbaric ancestors were, and then we have events like 9/11 that prove were still just as uncivilized as our ancestors were. The worst part is, the very moment I stand up to condemn such action I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and see the very same evil has been at work in my own life! I realize that Im just as guilty as any terrorist is! Ive taken part in ruining several lives all for selfish gain, and pleasure. Gossip, back-biting, lying, lustfulness- guilty, guilty, guilty, guilty! Before we say such things as, Theyre evil take a moment to look at yourself. Are you not just as guilty as they are? For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God... (Romans 3:23 ESV). We can point fingers all we want, but without Jesus well never escape the endless cycle of sin, pain, and death. Hes the only hope we have of finally breaking free. ...And are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show Gods righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. -Romans 3:24 & 25 (ESV).
