What do you see when you look at an uncarved block? I asked this - TopicsExpress

What do you see when you look at an uncarved block? I asked this question recently at a Business Network International (BNI) meeting. The answers I received were all the same: A block of wood. When I asked my friend’s son the same question, he didn’t see only a block of wood, he saw a way to make a holder for his rifle. When I asked him and his two brothers what they saw in a pile of scrap 2x4s, all three said a giant chair. I first learned about the concept of the uncarved block from Winnie the Pooh in The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff. I read the book in my 20s, but didn’t really understand the concept until that conversation with my friend’s sons. The uncarved block is the unlimited potential we all possess within us at any given time. We are all uncarved blocks of wood. Have you reached your highest and best potential? What does that look like? Watch the movie Mr. Magorium’s Imporium to learn how to tap into your unlimited potential. The lovely story is about a magical toy store, living with passion, inspiration and being authentic despite the opinions of others. You may realize that it is the belief in the magic and potential of the uncarved block that makes it so, and gives it life. For many, manifesting your life’s desires is the pursuit of happiness, success, and wealth. Did you know that a large majority of the wealthiest people have not completed post secondary education, nor did they just inherit their wealth? Knowledge and hard work are part of their success, but so is imagination. Imagination is one of the first principles to achieving your highest and best. Use your imagination to see all the possibilities that await you in your life. If you can’t imagine what your best life looks like, how can you create it? See the completed carving you plan to create out of the uncarved block. Begin with the end in mind — but begin. ow.ly/rkVUB
