What do you think about this article by one of our fan on kickoff Masandawana? Magwa Sibanyoni feels fans must have more faith in their club coaches.I have closely observed South African supporters and it’s interesting to see that we deem the firing of a coach as a solution. This is quite the opposite to Borussia Dortmunds fans: Jurgen Klopp’s team has been struggling to get results but the support he gets is overwhelming. Klopp has become a coach in football whose bad results dont make fans turn against him and call for the club to have him fired. Instead, fans believe that he will turn things around at Dortmund. They don’t want to lose him at this time, but would rather hang on to him even tighter. READ: Readers View: May ban too hasty Dortmund fans sang ‘six great years is not ruined by six bad games’ after their latest defeat, and a recent letter by a fan spoke on behalf of the entire club’s fanbase: ‘You have given us so much success, now we support you through the crisis.’I hope that as Sundowns supporters, we could unite in praising ‘Jingles’ for his achievements with the Brazilians. After seven years of drought at Chloorkop, and in his first full season in charge, Pitso brought us a League championship after accepting the difficult job of saving Sundowns from being relegated by Neeskens - and he delivered, with flying colours. If the mentality of firing coaches in difficult times doesnt end, our team will not grow. I prefer fans who would work with our coach in finding a lasting solution. Stuart Baxter won a double in his first season but failed to deliver a Cup in his second season, but received substantial support from Chiefs’ management. Allan Freese at Platinum Stars won the double, yet endured a slump in form in the League. I would like to implore to Sundowns supporters to support our coach in these trying times. I also have a few suggestions for coach Pitso Mosimane: Let’s stick to our normal carpet football and less on long balls to Mame [Niang] - actually we should release or sell Mame. We have failed with Eleazar Rodgers using the same style. Let’s call back Kwanda [Mngonyana] from Maritzburg United and Dove [Wome] from SuperSport. Moreover, cut the squad to be more manageable by selling the following players: Kennedy Mweene, Wayne Arendse and Anthony Laffor. Let’s try to use a goal-scorer as a second striker like Surprise Moriri, Katlego Mashego, Bongani Zungu and Dove Wome (in the future, when he returns) not Khama Billiat or Elias Pelembe because these two are good as wingers and they dont give us returns on chances we create.
