What do you think of President Obama’s decision not to take executive action on immigration reform until after the midterm elections? A. Delaying action was the right decision, even though Obama originally promised to take action by the end of the summer. This gives the American people the chance to elect members of Congress who will take on immigration reform themselves. B. This decision proves Obama is an immigration reform opportunist. He delayed action because it puts Senate Democrats at risk of losing their seats in the midterm elections. C. This delay is probably a good idea because Obama needs more time to present a plan for his reforms to the American people. This is a delay for the sake of clarity and for a national discussion of how we treat immigrants. D. Once again Latinos are treated like second-class voters. They are being asked to wait patiently for an election to pass while their families are being deported. We need reform now.
