What do you think of former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR)? He is solid on the Second Amendment and has raised $2 million for his PAC and non-profit, but he will need $30 million for a campaign. He won Iowa in 2008 but then collapsed to 11% in New Hampshire. Many journalists claimed he was focusing on Pat Buchanan style paleo-conservatives (they are isolationists and protectionists). His rhetoric is far different today. Social conservatives dominate Iowa and they are a major force in the GOP, but nationally their support is declining. A successful GOP candidate will have to win states such as Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Do you think Huckabee can defeat Hillary Clinton?
