What do you think of this development model as told to me by a Jap - TopicsExpress

What do you think of this development model as told to me by a Jap elder. During his days at the helm of power General Amin flew to the UK for a working visit. While there he was taken to a tour to one of the Diary farms in the outskirts of London. To his shock, Amin found out that each of the cows in the farm could produce up to 20 litters of milk in one milking session! This was eye opening to a General who knew that back home one would hardly squeeze one liter out of a cow! Amin inquired how he can have such cows back home for Ugandans to benefit from. The hosts explained to Amin how if he acquired some of the heifers and encourage Ugandans to cross-breed with the local cows, milk yield would increase significantly. How can I transport 300 cows back to Uganda he inquired upon which he was told he can use cargo planes. Costs for purchase of the cows and transportation were calculated for Amin. Using his natural wisdom, he quickly realized that the total cost of transporting the cows was equivalent to the same amount Uganda needed to buy its own cargo plane. This was how Uganda Airlines was borne. At the end Amin pioneered that cross-breeding of fresian cows with the local ones here, hence increasing milk yields in the country. Out of just one visit working visit, Amin achieved two significant milestones for the country. Talk of patriotism and I have never seen a real patriot like that swine!
