What do you think of when you hear or say the words; Lord I am - TopicsExpress

What do you think of when you hear or say the words; Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed! What do these words really mean for you? Scripture tells us this came from, Matthew chapter 8 verse 8 The centurion said in reply,* “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed. Jesus reply is that he hasnt seen any one in Israel with such faith. The centurion like all of us today are sinners. He knew Jesus was a righteous and Holy man and he didnt want Jesus to go into his house and be defiled by his own sins. Do we want Jesus to enter under our roof? Unlike the centurion I believe many of us today would want Jesus to enter our house, even though we are sinners. I feel we would be grasping at his Holiness in hoping that it would rub off onto us and cleanse us and remove all of our sins. Much like the woman who touched Jesuss robe in the crowd. For those of us who are Catholic this has a more spiritual meaning. We say this in mass during the Eucharistic portion just before we receive Holy Communion. So I ask of you, what are you really saying when you say these words? The centurion was asking Jesus to heal his servant. Because of his faith in knowing Jesus could heal his servant, Jesus did so. We too are telling Jesus that we are not worthy for him to enter under our roof, in this case into our body. Then we ask Jesus to only say the word and my soul shall be healed. We must have the faith of the centurion and know that Jesus can and will heal us. Thus making a holy place in his temple, our body, for Jesus to reside in us. Lets not go thru the motion but say these words with conviction! ybiC https://m.youtube/watch?v=ZUg9qE_KjLg
