What does “Legal Corruption” have to do with Public Corruption? The Alabama Republican Party, particularly the Baldwin County Republican party, is divided into three teams. The third team is about 20% of the population and will vote straight republican ticket, come hell or high water. The candidates could be in jail, it would not make a difference. The second team is 75% of the population, Mainstream Republicans, conservative, honest citizens wanting their elected Public Officials to have high ethical standards while in office, avoiding any conflict of interest. The first team is only 5%, however they have control, they are our elected officials and some will do anything to hold on to that power while advancing their personal agenda. They feel entitled to help themselves to any business venture that comes their way, ignoring any conflict of interest, knowing they will be protected by the team. The first team coaches were Elliot, Haygood and Stacy a political consulting group, Stacy “fix it man” has been head coach for years. Mr. Haygood is Mayor of Daphne and Mr. Elliott our new county commissioner. This firm has a 100% record of representing candidates who are successful. That has built up a network of elected officials indebted to them. The first team players include Elliott, Haygood and Matt Simpson their role with the Baldwin County Young Republicans give them the perfect cover to decide who gets to play. Other players like Tucker Dorsey, Buddy Brackin, are on the select team. The cheerleader Michelle Thomason is the photo op queen and a major part of the team. She and the team tried a few trick plays to eliminate any replacement to the cheerleader staff. Team one went to Montgomery and cried wolf, Ginger Poynter wanted to challenge the cheerleader. The end result was that certain Republicans decided that Ginger was not Republican enough and would not play well on the good ole boy team. So Baldwin County Young Republicans got their way and eliminated any competition Judge Thomason may have from a Republican. Ginger will now run as an Independent, and has yet to receive her application fee back from the good ole boys, over 2 thousand. Would you not call this trying to fix an election? The first team, the good ole boys, has the Governor’s ear, after having Elliott in place they now have a couple of new plays. Hey Governor we would like Matt Simpson to replace Halle Dixon if we can embarrass her enough to resign. We also like Tucker Dorsey to replace Senator Tripp Pittman when he is indicted.
