What does it mean to love? Many people trivialize the word love to simply mean “You make me feel good.” The truth is that the word goes much deeper. Jesus is the ultimate expression of love, taking the penalty for our sins upon Himself because we were unable to save ourselves. To love means to give of yourself for the benefit of another person. Love can often be inconvenient. Love often has a price tag, a large one, attached. Love is an action, not a feeling. It is a verb, and is expressed in the things we do for another person, especially in their time of need. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
