What does this say about my worldliness? I see a lot of my friends listing the states that they have visited. Ive been in every state except for Rhode Island and Alaska (and in every Canadian province save the Yukon). Yet that is highly deceptive. For example, I include Delaware only because Ive been on Amtrak a number of times between D.C. and NYC, so Ive crossed that weird little stocking cap formation that includes Wilmington, without ever stepping off the train. Ive lived in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, California, Georgia, Ohio, New York, and Oregon and have Social Security earnings from Michigan, California, Georgia, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Oregon and Washington. On the other hand, in the past 14 years I have been in two states: Oregon and Washington.
