What exactly is Indo-US Civil nuclear deal ?? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- As per my understanding, correct me anyone if I am wrong. US or US govt companies will produce nuclear energy for civil purpose in India, and India will pay for it. The concern was If theres any disaster then wholl be liable, wholl pay up the damages. The US declined to pay, India under UPA refused to bear the liability, incase of any issue or disaster. In comes Modi Govt and this deal is signed, fawning news channels like Times Now hype it as a great success and a masterstroke attribute this signing of nuclear deal to Modis diplomatic intelligence. But whats the truth ?? The truth is theres a workaround and that is, the liability in case of disaster will be paid by an insurance company. And wholl pay the insurance premium ?? Of course India, from the tax payers money. Thats the so called masterstroke, Obama not only got business for himself, but also for an insurance company. This is like, you hire a contractor to build your house, if the house collapses or if it gets damaged due to some reason, the contractor wont be held responsible, instead the contractor gets you an insurance company wholl save the contractor while you pay the premium.
