What, exactly, is this Tour de Franscott thing, anyway? Its a FREE Virtual race (strava recommended) , with daily rides mimicking the actual stages of the Tour de France, during the TdF (beginning 7/5, ending 7/27.) This is for ALL cyclists...road AND mountain! The more the merrier (thats your cue to share and like this.) You/me/we will attempt to ride 21 days out of 23 (or as many as possible). But....since none of us have the time (wink, wink) to ride the actual Tour de France distances, the daily Tour de Franscott rides will be assigned these proportions; 1/4 of TdF distances for road rides, 1/8 of TdF distances for mountain bikers. For example, On July 5th, the TdF riders will ride 119 miles. You will ride a MINIMUM of miles 30 (road) or 15 miles (mountain) on July 5th. There will often be assignments in area and/or altitude gain (for mountain stages). Some days you will be able to choose for yourself (out and back, or loop...no rides that are just downhill). Time trial days will be short distances, and are intended to be group ride days (come watch your friends suffer). We can do these as group rides, or solo...EVEN IF YOU DONT LIVE IN PRESCOTT (Im talking to you, OTB!), or when youre out of town (you DO take your bike, right?). Do as many days as you can. Our team of CPAs will crunch the numbers, and our retained PR firm will help assign bragging rights. (buzzkill alert) Remember...this ride is FREE, there is no money budgeted for lawsuits, so, you ride at your own risk, and assume all liability, and agree that you will not sue me over this totally elective and risky activity.
