What example is Edgar setting for the country? It is said that example is not the main thing in influencing others; it is the only thing. It will be interesting to see Edgar in a debate with Edith Nawakwi, Hakainde Hichilema and Elias Chipimo. Actually, the nation deserves that debate. We wonder how Edgar will fair in such a debate when on a simple radio programme, he had to rely on continuous notes from his aide. Edgar says “…nothing can be done in one and half year”. We disagree. A lot can be done in one and half years. Why is he seeking to be president for one and half years? To go and do nothing? He thinks there will be no work to do in one and half years and so he can go into State House and enjoy himself because there is nothing that can be done in such a time? Clearly, Edgar needs a crash programme on campaign issues, especially on matters of economics and national development. He is certainly no match on this score for Edith or Hichilema-they will reduce him to pulp and make him look foolish. He may not be ready for the job but there is no need to jump in the water if you can’t swim. Part of sunday posts Editorial.
